Well, I've certainly had an interesting week. I just spent 5 and a half hours in the ER with my daughter Nina. She had abdominal pain in her right side. This had started the night before and she didn't bother to tell me about it. She was at grandma's. So I talked to her on the phone today and still she hadn't mentioned it and mom called me later to let me know. So I came into town and took her out to the after hours clinic at our family doctor's office. They said since her pain was so bad to the touch and since the lab staff had gone home for the night I should take her to the ER to make sure it wasn't her appendix. A few years ago her father had his appendix rupture and nobody caught it for like almost three weeks. We kept taking him to doctors and nobody could figure it out. :P So, after having been there for an hour and a half we went to my mom's to get stuff. The laptop, books, my knitting. I knew better than to go to the ER without some way to amuse myself. I've been sick enough often enough that I know the ER procedures inside and out. And we spent five and a half hours there. They analyzed her blood and urine. Nothing. So she got her first CT scan. On the plus side it's not her appendix. On the down side it IS an ovarian cyst. Which means that can happen every month. :( I guess we will have to see. They sent home a script for motrin for her, but I think I'll see if I can find her a good gyno. She's 12. I just feel like she shouldn't have to deal with crap like this yet.
